Himura Kenshin was once known as 'Battousai the Man Slayer'. Wile being a man slayer he fought a woman's fiancee and got the scare going across his cheek. Kenshin killed him. Later that week he met her for the first time and didnt know he had killed her fiancee. Her name was Tomoe. They went into hiding together and maybe fell in love. Later Tomoe told Kenshin about her fiancee and that she was going to kill him but fell in love insted. Tomoe thought she should leave and go to the guy that wanted her to kill him wile kenshin was sleeping. Kenshin woke up to find his good friend waiting. He told Kenshin that Tomoe was a traitor and that he has to kill her. So Kenshin follows Tomoe where he gets ambushed a few times and gets hurt badly too. He wants to give up, his heart is broken, but he cant, he must go on! When he finally gets to the cabin in the woods their is a big man waiting out him. The man uses his fists and fights Kenshin wile Tomoe watches from inside, he would have lost but as the man took out a dager and Kenshin swong his sword, Tomoe got in between of them and stoped the dager from hitting Kenshin but letting Kenshin's sword hit her. The man died from Kenshin's sword as well. Tomoe lived long enuff to use the dager to make the other scare going down. Then she died in his arms. After that day he swore not to kill anyone after the war. That is what Tomoe wanted, and he gave her that last wish.
10 years later he mets up with Koaru, Yahiko and Sanosuke where he has lots of advertures. And later he marries Koaru. But watch the show on 'Cartoon Network' to find out more on the show.... i dont want to spoil to much!
